Technovation is a global tech education nonprofit that empowers young women to become leaders, creators and problem-solvers. It aims to equip girls (ages 10-18) to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. With the support of volunteer mentors, girls work in teams to code mobile apps that address real-world problems. In 2019 Amazon launched the first edition of Technovation program in Italy, and organized two events, presenting the initiative and offering mentoring support from Amazonians and Poli-Hub (Politecnico di Milano). More than 40 girls attended, 8 teams started the curriculum and 3 teams finally submitted projects for evaluation.
Women in Data Science are kindly supporting Amazon to reactivate the program for 2020, with the organization of the events in Q1, and creation of volunteers network for mentorship and localization of the curriculum, which is currently in English language.
Would you be interested in joining this inspiring initiative as a mentor, volunteer, or a supporter, and advocate for women in STEM?
